Maurice James is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) accredited by the Texas Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors. Maurice grew up near San Antonio, Texas and attended the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (UMHB) in Belton, TX. At UMHB Maurice played for the crusader football team and was a member of the Chi Sigma Iota Honors Society. During his time at UMHB he received his Bachelors in Arts in Psychology in 2019 followed by his Masters of Arts in Clinical Counseling in 2022. After completing his schooling and internships Maurice continued employment through STARRY Counseling working with underprivileged families before relocating to Pathlight Mood & Anxiety Center working in a partial hospitalization program.

Maurice has over five years of clinical experience and has treated a wide variety of clients throughout his career. From casual therapy to intensive outpatient clients, Maurice can approach each client in a way that meets their needs. In addition to general services, Maurice is also qualified to treat client looking to cope with trauma, grief, and family services through EFFT (Emitionally Focused Family Therapy), and CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy).
